SPIROMETRY ON THE GO

HOW IT WORKS
01
EASY
With a user-friendly interface and ergonomic design, Spiroedge is easy to use. With the press of a button, you can easily begin recording, with a buzzer to coach your beginning and ending times.
02
FAST
Unlike traditional spirometery testing, Spiroedge's real-time recording system allows the user to obtain their results with only an inhale and an exhale.
03
SECURE
Each Spiroedge device has its own personal Bluetooth code to ensure safe connection. All of the results can be sent to a physician via HIPAA-compliant secured Cloud storage.

MEET SPIROEDGE

OUR STORY
Spiroedge originally began as a prototype for a local engineering fair project. Founder Hannah Edge, an asthmatic, noted the inefficiency of hospital spirometers; and was determined to build a low-cost, accurate, portable spirometry device that would allow for an easier interface between patient and physician. This project has been presented from county, state, and even the Intel ISEF science and engineering fairs. Currently, Spiroedge has advanced from its prototype design to incorporate far more features, and an even more ergonomic design, produced through 3d rendering and printing.

OUR VISION
Spiroedge's goal is to provide real-time data to users, so that they can track their lung inflammation levels, spirometric values, as well as oximetry data. The mobile interface allows for an on-the-go, easy to use platform for maintaining healthy lung function for patients and athletes alike.

TECHNOLOGY
Spiroedge utilizes a number of technologies to provide accurate, quick results. Air pressure sensors precisely measure lung capacity, while allowing for real-time recording via Android application. An oximeter is also incorporated into the spirometer's function - a unique integration of two medical tools, right at your fingertips. FeNO measurements are also provided in less than 15 seconds.

OUR LEADERSHIP

Hannah Edge
is the Founder of SpiroEdge. She is a 16 year old freshman at Arizona State University pursuing a degree in Computer Science. At 13 years old, Hannah won the Grand Prize at the Alameda County Science and Engineering Fair and went on to compete at the prestigious Intel International
Science and Engineering Fair as well as participating in Google Science Fair with two robotics projects. Hannah won the Silicon Boule Award at the California State Science Fair and First Place in Robotics Division at Alameda County Science and Engineering Fair.

Rami Abousleiman, PhD
is the Co-Founder and CTO of SpiroEdge. Dr. Abousleiman received his masters and PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan in 2009 and 2014 respectively. Dr. Abousleiman has more than 4 patents and 20 scientific publications. Prior to moving to the Bay Area Dr. Abousleiman worked at FCA in Auburn Hills, Michigan where he led the development of V2G, G2V, electric driving range estimation, and charge time estimation for electric and plug-in electric production and R&D vehicles. He is currently working at Gotion Inc. in Fremont, California where he is leading the software development for the Battery Management System module for electric vehicles. When Rami isn’t working, you can find him hiking, biking, or traveling.
